Moving Through Change

Yoga, Rolfing and Compassionate Inquiry in Farnham

WELCOME

At the core of every body is a desire for safety, belonging
and ease.

I work as a yoga teacher, bodyworker, and psychotherapist/coach, with an intention of gaining awareness, increasing ease and connection, both in my own life, and in the lives of everyone I work with. One aspect of the work focuses on creating a bridge between one's physical reality and the inner landscape.

Whether you've come to my website to heal an aching body, to learn how to move more freely, or to resolve an issue in your life, this is a process of becoming -- at ease and in balance -- with a defined sense of presence, purpose and connection.

WHAT I OFFER

At ease in gravity, confident in
the skin you're in

At the heart of the yoga practice there exists a space for inquiry, movement and stillness; a space to heal and to re-awaken to a vibrant life force. I teach beginners, experienced yogis and teachers through a combined lens of explorative movement and classical asana. I have a special interest in supporting the positive ageing process, and those with chronic pain and healing/recovery.

Over a lifetime, some experiences leave an imprint in the physical body. Rolfing is a method that alleviates tension held in the connective tissue by releasing and reorganising them. This process redefines how we feel and relate to our body. More than that, Rolfing clarifies the relationship we have with gravity, resulting in more balance, integrity and efficiency in space. Sessions feel like a slow and deep massage. Sometimes it is as if someone is moving your body for you, loosening the joints and creating space between the muscles and bones. Rolfing also re-educates the body about how to move - how to sit, stand and walk, for example.

Compassionate Inquiry is an approach to psychotherapy that brings clarity to the underlying belief systems that hold us back from living in the present moment. These sessions have the essence of a dialogue that results in transparency, self-acceptance and compassion. Often, after a session, clients report that it is as if their mind has slowed down and a weight lifted.

ABOUT ME

Hi there, my name’s Lizzie.

Before venturing into a yoga lesson with me or booking a therapy session, you might like to know a little bit about me.

My work is as an educator and therapist. I come from a somatic background of yoga and bodywork (Rolfing), which now also includes psychotherapy and coaching.

My own lived experience has been the entry point into this work, for I wasn’t born a dancer, or even flexible, but rather, I came to know my own body first through auto-immune disease at three years old. These early years set me on a lifetime quest for understanding and healing, which came from movement and knowledge. On this path, in my twenties I discovered yoga, in my thirties, Rolfing, and, in my forties, Compassionate Inquiry.

My intention is to create a safe space for people to meet themselves with honesty and authenticity, and to support the liminal spaces that we are all navigating; spaces with potential for transformation.
